Hypnotic Bird Call Cocktail Martin Denny Monday Premium Broadcast Promo

by Tiki Brian

🍹Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Aged Jamaican Rum (Appleton 8, Hampden, or similar)
  • 1.5 oz Fresh Pineapple Juice (the bright, chirping high note)
  • 0.75 oz Lime Juice  (adds lift and sparkle)
  • 0.5 oz Passionfruit Syrup  (intensifies the tropical “call”)
  • 0.5 oz Falernum (ginger, lime, clove – the exotic rhythm)
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters (adds depth and jungle warmth)
  • Absinthe Mist (optional but magical)  A single spritz over the top for hypnotic aroma (see below)

🌺 Garnish

  • A pineapple frond standing tall (the bird’s crest)
  • A lime wheel tucked at the base
  • Optional: a thin orange peel “beak” for fun

🌿 How to Create an Absinthe Mist

Spray Bottle Method (Best for Presentation)

  1. Pour a small amount of absinthe (about ½ teaspoon) into a fine mist atomizer or small spray bottle.

  2. Just before serving, spritz once or twice over the top of the cocktail.

    • Hold the bottle about 6–8 inches away.

    • Aim for a light aromatic cloud, not droplets.

  3. The mist should settle gently, releasing that herbal, anise aroma as the drink is served.

🌸 Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients (except absinthe) into a shaker with crushed ice.
  2. Shake hard — like a frantic bird fluttering through the palms.
  3. Open‑pour into a tall tiki glass or highball.
  4. Top with more crushed ice to create a frosty “jungle canopy.”
  5. Mist the top lightly with absinthe for the hypnotic effect.

🌺 Backstory of the Hypnotic Bird Call Cocktail

Legend says this cocktail was first discovered deep within the moonlit palms of Exotic Tiki Island, on a night when the jungle itself seemed to hum in harmony with the distant vibraphones drifting across the lagoon.

During an early Martin Denny Monday broadcast, Tiki Brian wandered off the beaten path, following a strange, rhythmic series of bird calls echoing through the canopy. Each call seemed to answer the last – hypnotic, playful, and impossibly musical. The trail led him to a hidden clearing where an old tiki carving stood guard over a small stone bowl filled with a glowing golden liquid.

The air shimmered with pineapple sweetness and warm Jamaican rum, and every time a bird called from the treetops, the surface of the drink rippled as if responding.

Tiki Brian took a sip… and instantly felt the jungle come alive around him – torches flaring brighter, leaves swaying in slow motion, and the night pulsing with Exotica rhythm. He brought the recipe back to ETI RADIO, where it became the official ceremonial drink of the 2026 Martin Denny Monday Premium Broadcast.
