Aloha ETI RADIO listeners. Some of you may already know that Tikimon (Our Co-Host of ETI RADIO) lives in St. James City, Florida on Pine Island. Pine island is seventeen miles long and two miles wide. It’s the largest island on Florida’s west coast, large in size but with a definite small town feel. Located on the southern tip of the island is St. James City. That is where Tikimon lives. He streams in live each month during our Aloha Friday Live Happy Hour Show and shares a custom crafted tiki cocktail with all of you. Additionally, he is my Co-Host on the broadcast and helps find many of the very rare music that is played on the show.

Tragically, on September 28th, 2022, Hurricane IAN devastated Pine Island including St. James City and Tikimon’s home. Luckily, Tikimon and his wife evacuated off the island (with only a couple of bags packed leaving everything else behind) before the hurricane hit. They are SAFE and temporarily staying in different places near Fort Myers, Florida until they can figure out their next move. He hasn’t been able to get back to his home due to the roads and bridges being washed out but after looking at several photos online, it doesn’t look he will have much of a home to come back to. 

My heart breaks for everything Tikimon and his wife are going though. It’s so sad that he along with many other people lost everything to Hurricane IAN.

Since this devastating event,  I have received SO MANY emails and messages from ETI RADIO listeners asking if Tikimon is ok and if there was anything he needed to help him and his wife through this tragic time.  Tikimon and myself say this all the time during our Aloha Friday Live Happy Hour Shows, “The ETI RADIO community is one big Ohana – meaning “Family”! These are not just words. If you listen to ETI RADIO and interact with other ETI listeners in the chat screen during each broadcast, you know how true the statement is. 

ONE YEAR LATER:

GOOD NEWS – Tikimon and his wife have started to rebuild their home! Things are coming along (slowly but surely) but are still in need of some items to help them get back on their feet.

Let them know the words “ETI RADIO is one big Ohana” are not just words. We really are one big FAMILY, and family helps each other in time of need.
